Andrew Lightburn
I’m proud to have been born and brought up in County Durham. Now living and working in North Yorkshire.
I came into the Law late having previously worked in the Civil Service. I did my legal education at the College of Law (now the University of Law) in York and then trained as a Solicitor at Nockolds in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire.
I qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 specialising in Employment Law and moved back to the North East to the Newcastle office of national trade union firm, Thompsons.
After leaving Thompsons I arrived in Yorkshire and joined Shulmans Solicitors in Leeds. Shulmans led to a brief stint at national firm DAC Beachcroft before I joined regional firm HLW Keeble Hawson. At HLW I was Lead Solicitor for employment tribunal claims nationally for a major supermarket’s employee legal scheme.
The final step before setting up Lightburn Legal Consulting was to come full circle and return to the North East as Head of Employment at regional Firm BHP Law.
